our mission statement
To manufacture less product and ensure it delights the imagination, inspires the soul, and is responsible mentally and environmentally.
This has always been my mission in beauty, seen through the magical portal of lipstick.
We are in the middle of the worst beauty crisis ever: too much beauty product is being made, and horrific amounts of landfill are destroying the environment and the communities that suffer its dumping.
My pull toward beauty when I was 19 (now in my mid-fifties) was never to join what was being done in the beauty industry, but to be an alternative to it and to show that you don’t need extreme amounts of new products to be a brand.
Instead of endless new launches, I want something more amazing for my fellow humans in this beauty world: an imaginative brand where not much product comes out, but when it does, it offers art, beauty, and discovery.
An interior world for your soul.
I am often asked why my lipsticks don’t come with boxes. Boxes get thrown away. Instead, what I offer is a beautiful collectible card with original artwork and the story of the lipstick that is now yours, something you can keep forever.
These cards never feature models or standardised ideas of beauty. They are always playful, deeply artful, and filled with embedded messages, like tarot cards.
For me, this is essential, as it is both environmentally more responsible than a throwaway box and mentally more responsible than images of models and celebrities.
My lipstick is about the effect it has on your mind, which is true beauty.
A connection between mind, body, and earth.
Love, Poppy
